This month we had an event in Calgary, it was for women, specifically Muslim women. #BeingME was great and I really enjoyed listening to all the speakers. One person really stood out for me and she was remarkable. Her name is Maryam Amir and she said many things on the stage about women in the society today. We are descendants of the great Muslim women during the times of the Prophets, alayhoum alsalam. Just imagine, we are descendants of these great people who worked for Islam and encouraged men and women to do many things that have started the technologies of today. Inventions, numerals, medicine, education, universities, libraries, and so much more. We need to do the same now, more than ever, build each other up and assist others to do more. We are all put on this earth for a reason, we may not know what that is, but us being here is what is important. Many times I would think of what is my purpose? All I know is that I need to do what I am able to and Allah will take care of the rest, Allhamdallah! May Allah help us to be the best that we could be, for us and our communities!
